Reflections from SETICC

We are incredibly grateful for the community that makes up SETICC. Our mission is simple, yet powerful: to grow trauma-informed services through collaboration and education while raising awareness of the impact of trauma and the importance of trauma-informed practices.

It sounds simple, doesn't it? In reality, creating meaningful change takes an entire community—and ours is truly amazing.

As we look back on the first half of this calendar year, we're excited to share just a few of the things we've accomplished together:

  • In partnership with Ohio University's student-led advertising agency, NEXT, SETICC is expanding our reach through social media and our website.

  • Over the past six months, we've offered free trainings on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), familial trafficking, resilience, and trauma-informed supervision.

  • In June, 22 individuals from across our region completed our Train-the-Trainer program and are now equipped to deliver Trauma & Resilience training throughout their communities. Stay tuned—there's much more to come!

  • Throughout the summer, talented professionals with their own stories of lived experience and resilience have provided trainings for expectant and new mothers. These sessions focus on building healthy, nurturing relationships between parents and their infants.

We're also excited about what's ahead over the next several months:

  • We'll be launching our new podcast soon—stay tuned for more details!

  • Appalachian Stories of Resilience & Recovery returns on September 3. Watch for our "Save the Date" announcement with registration details.

  • In October, we'll come together for our annual strategic planning meeting, where members will help shape SETICC's priorities and goals for the coming year.

None of this would be possible without the collaboration, commitment, and passion of our partners and members across the region. Every training offered, every connection made, and every person reached is the result of people working together to build more trauma-informed communities.

Our collaborative continues to grow every day as members share our social media posts, attend trainings, engage with our website, and participate in our virtual meetings. Whether you've been with us since the beginning or are just discovering SETICC, there's always a place for you.
